For your consideration one semi-star pattern cast brass boot heel plate. You will find this plate to be in excellent dug condition.   Thanks to our government's recent shutdown this is the best picture I can show you of Fort Pulaski, Georgia. Found at the opening of Savannah harbor. An April 1862 naval engagement showed just how effective the new US rifled Parrott shell could be & just how past tense earth & stone forts were becoming. Told by a viewer that shells could be easily seen imbedded in the fort walls...maybe I will see next time. Thanks for viewing TennesseeLead

Here's a bullet I found listed in the Thomas' handbook 1996 as #11 Colt Dragoon & later as a Colt sugarloaf bullet. See antiquearmsinc.com item 1209. There you will get more info on this bullet via an original Walker Colt transition bullet mold aka Colt Whitneyville Hartford Dragoon. Pictures of an unfolded bullet mold clearly showing the bullet cavities. The Walker transition & the 1st model Dragoon do not have a grease groove inside of the conical bullet cavity. Mold seams can be seen on both sides & the solid base is smooth. Measures about 0.455 x 0.695 inches. Often mistaken as a picket bullet on ebat & at relic shows. Shooting Times 2-12 has an article on the Walker revolver.

First home of 17th US President Andrew Johnson at Greeneville, Tenn. Johnson succeeded Abraham Lincoln after he was assiginated at the end of the civil war. Johnson was the only southern Senator to retain his seat in the US Senate at the outbreak of the civil war.....a Union loyalist from a confederate state. At Johnson's request Lincoln exempted Tenn from the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863.....there would be no freed slaves here. Confederate General John Hunt Morgan was shot & killed some 500 yards from this structure.
