For your consideration one iron spur found in a barn from the Rogersville, Tenn area. Three additional photos of this spur can be found near the top of page 1 (just below Davy Crockett’s cabin) here at TennesseeLead.com. One of the oddest spurs I have seen. Made from heavy iron. To begin, see photo left, the neck of the spur is fancy with a large (Mexican??) rowel. The rowel is held in place by an iron pin placed there by a blacksmith; hammered on both ends. The rowel moves freely. The base of the neck is scalloped. See photos page 1…one arm of the spur is striped like a lollipop. The other is plain. Both arms have heavy slots for the leather straps & both slots have iron studs in them. The studs both move freely. The rust is surface rust only. Measures about 3 inches wide by almost 6 inches long. I see no evidence of wear or use…in other words this spur is in excellent condition. Spipping is $8.00.
