SOLD For your consideration one McKee & Mason 483/486 (its the same bullet) - Thomas handbook 62 Frank Wesson rifle bullet. You will find this bullet to be excellent dug condition...the best I have seen! The patina is a real nice white color. Overall this bullet has great detail. Crisp & clean all over! Measures about 0.43 x 0.72 inches. Dug from the Corinth - Shiloh area.

The reason bullets 483 & 62 are different from 486 is these bullets were once in a brass cased cartridge. When they were lost the powder in the cartridge eroded the base of the bullet. The bullet I am offering for sale must have been removed from the brass hull before it was lost...just like bullet 486 in M&M. A Frank Wesson rifle saw limited usage - introduced late in the civil war & is dug in a very few places. SOLD
