For your consideration one Vicksburg rifle bullet listed in Thomas RBRF4 as 289. You will find this bullet to be in very good to excellent dug condition. The patina is a near perfect brown to white color. The patina has a slick, waxy feel to it. Mold seams can be seen on both sides & the nose cast mark can be plainly seen. The cavity is a cone. Measures about 0.525 x 1.195 inches. Dug from the Spring Hill, Tenn area...near Nashville.

A Vicksburg rifle is a Kentucky or country rifles that were rebored to 0.54 caliber. Likely this work was done at Vicksburg or Holly Springs, Miss.
