For your consideration one Bank of the State of South Carolina $1 note. A real nice piece of civil war paper. Dated April 8, 1863. Hand signed 3 times in brown ink. The back is blank & is of the same quality as the front. Good detail all around. About 6 3/4 inches long. An interesting thing about this note is the 3 in 1863 has been signed as an E. I went to ebay & managed to find 2 notes similar to this one…1863 notes from this same bank…signed by the same President of this bank & they too were signed 186E. Look closely at this…just another thing that makes you say hmmmm & why some collect these old bills.
