For your consideration one Confederate brass spur listed in the Crouch & Baird reference books as spur CS4. The condition is excellent dug. The patina is a flawless dark green color. Crouch states these spurs are unbreakable. Smoothly finished as this one is. Heavy & strong. Their heavly rounded body sets them apart. Measures 5 inches long & weights over 5 ounces (if my scales are correct). Baird states this spur variety weight between five to seven ounces. His theory is the heavy ones are early war manufacture & the lighter ones are late war. This spur can be bought on my layaway plan. Shipping is $9 with $50 shipping insurance.
