For your consideration one Jenkins Ferry musketoon bullet. These bullets are found only in the trans-Mississippi department of the civil war. This is a lightly fired bullet. For all that this bullet retains most of its original shape. Several rifling marks can be seen. The patina is a near perfect white color. Typical of these bullets the skirt is thick & the cavity is a conical truncated. Both rings can be easily seen. Measures about 0.70 x 0.985 inches. Listed in Stelma Some Civil War bullets2 as 09-004. Stelma states his oppinon was these bullets were used by black troops of the 1st or 2nd Kansas Infantry. Dug from the Water Grove, Kansas area.
