This is not your typical 2 ring Prussion bullet. For your consideration one McKee & Mason 285 (type) Prussion bullet. You will find this bullet to be in excellent dug condition. The patina is a striated browns to whites to streaks of blackish grey...typical of a salvaged lead bullet? And yes I do not see a single patina chip. The grain of the patina can be felt with your fingers. Notice the bottom groove is pretty well filled in...that's how it came out of the factory. The top groove is shallow. It appears there are mold seams on both sides of this bullet. The cavity is ogival. Measures about 0.68 x 1.17 inches. The general thinking on most-2 ring basic-Prussions is this bullet type is Machine pressed & turned...per Thomas. I think these wood mold Prussions fall outside of a basic 2 ring Prussion. I don't remember seeing any info out there to read on this particular bullet. Best of all dug from the Corinth - Shiloh area.
