For your consideration one of the big rivets/leather rig fastners often found in civil war camps. Now in two pieces. These are almost always made of brass. This one is made from pewter & the front side has a nice design in it. Cleanly broken in two…the 2 pieces do marry back up. Each piece is about 1/2 inch across. My guess this rivet was used on a horse bridle. Dug from a CS camp NE Tennessee.
