For your consideration one Confederate Enfield bullet listed in the NSTCW Vol. 37 No. 4 article Western Bullets Maxey Enfield. You will find this bullet to be in very good to excellent dug condition. This bullet is nearly 100% still covered with dirt so the patina is any body’s guess. This bullet has a pointed nose & the cavity is an odd stepped type. These bullets almost always have a slightly raised mold seam just where the body of the bullet first breaks into the pointed nose. This bullet has that mold seam. Maxeys measures in length greater than 1.15 inches. Measures about 0.57 x 1.175 inches. Maxeys are attributed to native American troops. Listed as a trans Mississippi bullet. I think this is true but I think they are found in other places too.
