For your consideration one Confederate Vicksburg rifle bullet listed in Thomas RoundBall to RimFire Vol 4 as bullet 287. You will find this bullet to be in very good to excellent dug condition. This bullet is nearly 100% covered with dirt but the patina looks to be good. A faint nose cap ring can be seen & the cavity is a cone. Measures about 0.525 x 1.13 inches.

A Vicksburg rifle is a Kentucky Long rifle rebored to a 0.54 caliber. Most likely this retooling happened at Vicksburg or Holly Springs, Mississippi.
