For your consideration one Confederate for captured or pre-Civil War Merrill carbines. You will find this bullet to be in excellent dug condition. The patina without a single patina chip. Mold seams can be seen on both sides & a faint pocket knife cut can be seen inside the one groove. This cartridge was hand trimmed at the Richmond Laboratory arsenal. The solid base is smoooth & a base cast sprue can be easily seen. Measures about 0.545 x 0.845 inches. Dug from the Wilderness battlefield area, Virginia. See Thomas handbook 92 - McKee & Mason 67.
